Kimberly Vinson

July 15, 1959 — April 6, 2022

Kimberly Bolden Vinson was born July 15, 1959 to the late Deacon Fred Bolden Sr. and Pastor Sandra Bolden King. Kim attended Hoffman and Parham Elementary Schools, Schwab Jr. High School, graduating in 1977 from Aiken Sr. High School (Swoop!). Kim later continued her education attending college at Mt. Saint Joseph, majoring in Business with a minor in Theology.

Upon graduating high school, she married the love of her life, the late Elliott Vinson, December 4, 1978. This union passed the test of time, lasting 30 years until Elliott's departure from this world. Kim and Elliott have two children Jason and Amber, but they adopted everybody! They opened their home up to many friends and family over the years. They were an example of "The Village" that it takes to raise a community.

Kim dedicated her life to Christ at Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Temple in 1983. She developed a passion for outreach work, serving Cincinnati's underprivileged in any capacity she could. Through her ministry called "Mercy Works" Kim fed and clothed hundreds of families every year. Her blue Chevy Astro van was so recognizable in OTR! The people knew when Kim pulled up, she had them covered.

Momma Kim, as she was affectionately called, worked for The Hamilton County Board of Developmental Disabilities for 18 years before starting her own agencies, My Brother's Keeper and Individual Support Services, serving individuals with developmental disabilities. In her latter years she also worked as a consultant mentoring aspiring business owners. She helped to plant and grow a dozen businesses aside of her own.

Kim's greatest joy of all was being "Granny". She loved spending time with her grandkids. Just loving on them, spoiling them rotten! Cooking greens, baking cookies, making art, watching shows. She loved it all. She would always say Alayah, Ava, Jahmir, Jaiya, and Liberte' are her heartbeats. Kim loved her family. Every sister, brother, cousin, niece, nephew was her "favorite" when she had you. She is dearly missed. Kim leaves to cherish Jason (Lauren) and Amber. Her grandkids, Alayah, Ava, Jahmir, Jaiya, and Liberte'; mother, Pastor Sandra King; siblings, Michael, Stephanie, Tracey, Fred Jr., Sydney, Sheldon, Mia, Mark, Denny, LouAnn, Theresa, and Gabby. The entire Vinson, Bolden, Todd, Mitchell, Hatcher, Rice, Ray, Jones, Bryant and Montgomery families, Marquetta Edwards, James Hayes, Pastor Darrow Smith, Charles Daniels, The Rockdale Baptist/Rocklife Church and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and associates.

A visitation will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 10:00am - 12:00pm with a service to follow at Rockdale Baptist Church, 539 Forest Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229.
