Alberta Beatrice Murrell

Alberta Beatrice Murrell, age 88 of Cincinnati passed away at her residence on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. She was born in Cincinnati on June 25, 1924 the daughter of Eugene and Jessie (Nesbitt) Butler. Alberta was a member of the First Baptist Church West College Hill and a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star - Euclid Lodge # 97. She was married to Bernard Murrell Jr. on February 15, 1944 and he preceded her in death in 1989.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Sheppard of Cincinnati; her son Merlin Murrell Sr. and his wife Artelia of Cincinnati; four grandchildren, Neil Murrell and his wife Chandra of Cincinnati, Felicia Bell of Cincinnati, Merlin Murrell Jr. of Cincinnati and Eric Murrell of Cincinnati; three great-grandchildren, Swede Moorman III, Maya Murrell and Daquain Murrell; two brothers, Jesse "Phillip" Butler of Cincinnati and Dwight "Tony" Butler and his wife Arovia of Cincinnati ; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard Murrell; four brothers, Richard, William, Eugene and Charles; and four sisters, Clara, Martha, Monie and Grace.

Funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church West College Hill on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:30 AM with Rev. Charles L. King, Jr. officiating. Order of Eastern Star service will be held from 11:00 AM until 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
