Alfred C. Oakes, III, age 78, of Burlington, Kentucky passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024. He was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio on October 5, 1945 to the late Alfred Oakes, Jr. and Violet Oakes (nee Henwood).
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Alfred is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Oakes (nee Spellman); daughters, Renee (Edward) Hursh and Amber (Christopher) Hardy; grandchildren, Chelsea Hardy, London Oakes, Cole Hardy, Benjamin Hursh, Devin Hursh, Lazarus Hursh, Edward Hursh, Jr., and Malachi Hursh; and a host of other family members and friends.
Alfred was a devoted Christian who was strong in his faith. He fulfilled Christ's calling to be a "fisher of men". His heart was too big for this world and he always saw the best, even in those who everyone had written off. Alfred enjoyed fishing, camping and in his younger years, riding his motorcycle.
In loving memory of Alfred, contributions may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati. Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
