Alma Margaret Davis

Alma Margaret Davis (Lewis) was born on April 23, 1936 in Augusta, Kentucky to the union of James and Alice Lewis. She departed this life on August 16, 2011. She graduated from John G. Fee High School in Maysville, Kentucky. She resided and was employed in Maysville, Kentucky for many years after graduating, before coming to Cincinnati. The youngest of 10 children (6boys and 4 girls) once she moved to Cincinnati she met the late James Edward Davis. She worked in retail where she retired from Macy's department store. Alma attended 9th Street United Methodist Church until the church closed. She then became a member of Allen Temple AME Church at Reading Road in Jordan Crossing. Alma loved to cook and take care of her grandchildren and making sure her family was doing all right.
She is survived by her two children, Toni Annette Davis and her fiancé Darin, and Jay Bryan Davis and Dominique; four grandchildren, Bryan Edward Davis, Jade Briana Davis, Darin Tyrell Sneed Jr., and Shaqueal Emmanuel Kinney; one great-grandchild Bryan Edward Davis; three step grandchildren, Robert Lewis, Tesha Lewis, and Michael Lewis; step great-grandchildren, Michael, Teaira, Demarco, Rashawn, Darrius; and a special loving friend Edward Tolbert. She was preceded in death by her husband James Edward Davis; her parents, James and Alice Lewis; three sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral service will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Emma Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM
