Alma Elizabeth (Elliott) Smythe born on July 21, 1937 to Roosevelt and Mary Ann Elliott. She was the third of ten children. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at St. Anthony Church in the West End.
Alma attended Our Mother of Mercy and left high school early to work in the laundry industry. She later married Robert Smythe. After 25 years of dedicated service to Cincinnati Public Schools she retired in 2012.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt and Mary Ann Elliott, two sons, Darryl A. Elliott and Robbie D. Smythe, three sisters, Anne Parks, Bertha Gordon and Bessie Mae Young, four brothers, Nathan Elliott, Thomas R. Elliott, William R. Elliott and Danny R. Crews.
She leaves to cherish and not to mourn her memory, two daughters, Sandra Cameron and Andrea (Charles Jr.) Gamble; four sons, David Elliott, James (Tracey) Elliott, Troy Smythe, Andrew Smythe; one brother, Arnold Elliott; five sisters, Edna Thompson, Helen Jean Whaley, Florence (Sylvester) Darks, Virginia (William) Parker and Florence Rita Crew; four grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was a mother to many and a friend to many more.
