Alvin Louis Jones, Sr. was born November 4, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Alvin received his early education in the Cincinnati Public Schools and was graduated from Hughes High School. He attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. On October 24, 1969, Alvin married the love of his life Edith M. Martin. To this union two loving children were born, Alvin Jr. and Allonda Jones.
Alvin confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a very committed member of Victory Christian Center of Cincinnati, under the leadership of Bishop Walter W. Piper Jr. He truly loved the church and gave all he could to help the church accomplish its mission.
Alvin was a hard worker, loved his family and enjoyed sports. Providing and helping out his whole family was always his priority. He became a supervisor at the McDaniel Sheet Metal Company. He supervised the rebuilding of the University of Cincinnati Helipad and the adding of five floors to the building. He also was employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Department of Defense and Voices of America. Afterwards Alvin became a very successful business man by creating his own company, Al's Vending.
On Monday evening, July 14, 2014, Alvin went home to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by a brother John Wayne Jones. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife Edith M. Jones; two children Alvin Jr. (Malika) and Allonda; his mother Louise Davis; four siblings Barbara Young, Michael L. Jones, Raymond E. Jones and Donald Lee Jones; and a host of other loving family and very dear friends.
May his loving soul rest in peace and upon arrival God will definitely say "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
