Barry D. Gordon

June 11, 1942 — May 25, 2018

Gordon, Barry D. age 76, of De Mossville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018. He was born in Red Lion, Pennsylvania on June 11, 1942 to the late Genevieve Ingram and Harold Gordon. Harold suffered fatal service-related injuries during World War II, and Barry was later raised from infancy by Henry "Clay" Ingram, whom Barry always knew as his father.

Barry is survived by Christopher H. Gordon, son; Brewer K. Thompson, daughter-in-law; Michael D. Gordon, son; Horatio H. Thompson-Gordon, grandson; Hadrian T. Thompson-Gordon, grandson; and many other family members and friends.

Barry honorably served in the United States Army from 1964-1967. Later Barry worked as a steamfitter, belonging to Local Union 602, located in Capitol Heights, Maryland. He was also an avid outdoorsman. He was one of the first people to ever travel the entire length of the Zekiah Swamp. He was also an entrepreneur, having started and operated a range of businesses from a restaurant to a quarter horse farm. Barry spent most of his free time lately at home. He enjoyed wood working and carving.

In memory of Barry a celebration of life will be held June 1, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at a place he previously frequented: Special K Sports Cafe, 10786 Dixie Highway, Walton, KY 41094.
