Belinda Jean Pitts

Belinda Jean "Lynn" Pitts, was born March 17, 1961 the fourth of eight children to the union of Sarah Pitts (Harris) and the late Leonard Peter Pitts, Sr. in Cincinnati Ohio. On October 25, 2011, she departed this life after suffering a long battle with cancer.

Belinda gave her life to Christ at an early age. She joined Beulah Missionary Baptist Church and found her church family. She was an active member of the Praise Dance Ministry and Beulah Combined Choir, until her illness. Lynn attended Heberle Elementary, South Avondale Elementary, and Samuel Ach Junior High. She graduated from Hughes High School in 1979.She furthered her education at Cincinnati State obtaining her Associates of Arts Degree in Business Administration. She later obtained her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Tiffin University in 2010.

As a young girl, Lynn was an active member of the Stridettes Step Team. Belinda had a love for sports, especially softball. She was known as one of the best short stops around Cincinnati. Belinda joined the Dark & Lovely's Softball in roughly 1988 where she formed an everlasting "Sisterhood". She worked at The Shriners' Burns Institute for 25 years, where she worked her way from Housekeeping, Nurses' Aide to Family Services Assistant until her illness.

Lynn had a passion for cooking, travelling, dancing, shopping and laughing. She also motivated the people she encountered, along with keeping it real in the process. She also enjoyed having fun with all of the children of the family.

Belinda leaves behind to cherish her memory of her beloved son Marcus (Sakinah) –future grandson Nehemiah, whom she affectionately called "My baby", her mother Sarah Pitts, siblings: Leonard Jr. (Veronica), Vicki, Deborah, Pamela (Tyrone Sr.), Larry (Torsha) & Shonda (Rodney). Belinda also leaves to cherish her wisdom a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, great nieces and great nephews and a host of many, many friends. Belinda joins in spirit her father, her brother (Ronald), and both her paternal and maternal grandparents along with her special friend the late Horace Sims.
