Bernice Banks (Flowers), born March 26, 1932 of Cincinnati, OH, and daughter of Arvie and Bernice Flowers (nee Johnson) passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Emmett Banks, of whom she was married to for 57 years; brothers, Ivan, Donnie, and Ike Flowers, her sister, Beatrice Flowers, and her sons Jerome and Charles Banks.
Bernice helped to raise many children, she in fact held a child certificate from the State of Ohio.
She had a passion for shopping, one of her favorite things to do on Saturdays. She also loved traveling, singing and dancing. Christmas was her favorite holiday; she always looked forward to decorating her house and yard full of Christmas cheer.
Bernice is survived by her children: Gloria, Ricky (Karen), Dale, Bernice (Oliver), and Annette (Timothy).
She is the grandmother of a host of grandkids, great, great-great grandkids; sister of Arvie Jr, Ester, Rosetta, Inez, Margaret, Jimmy, and Eddy, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211. Burial will follow in Landmark Cemetery.
