Bettye Ann Bishop

September 4, 1941 — July 27, 2012

Bettye Ann Bishop was born on September 4, 1941 in Barbour County Alabama to the late Mamie C. and Hillard Marshall.

Bettye was raised by her grandmother Lula B. Thomas, whom preceded her in death in Eufaula, Alabama when her mother died at an early age. She attended Van Buren High School in Alabama and was baptized at an early age.

On July 5, 1959, Bettye married Dizzy Dean Bishop Sr. whom preceded her in death. Out of this union, three children were born, Curtis Bishop, Dean Bishop, and Audrey Bishop (Kennedy) of Cincinnati.

Bettye came to Cincinnati from Eufaula and worked at Kenner Toys for several years. From there she spent twenty-two years as a seamstress at the University Hospital, until she became ill.

Bettye was a God fearing woman who lived by the 23rd psalm and was crazy about her two grandsons. She loved children and would give the best advice to anyone. She always kept a smile on her face and was so full of life no matter what. She was a member at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

She leaves behind her three loving children: Curtis Bishop (Barbara), Dizzy Dean Bishop Jr. and Audrey Kennedy (Mark Kennedy); three grandsons, Quentin Bishop (Mika); Quentez Bishop, and Rico Gibson; two great granddaughters, Zoe Redding and Da'mya Bishop; two sisters Mary Frances Marshall (deceased), Donna Marshall (deceased); two brothers, Willie Clare Marshall (deceased), Paul Marshall (deceased); three aunts, Dorothy "Dot" Wright of Columbus, GA, and Louise Grim of New York, Thelma Grim (deceased); two uncles Mac Auther Gim (deceased), and Willie White (deceased), one nephew, Herman Grim; dearest friends, Kimberly, Faye, BG and Burley Scriber and Elaine Bennett and a host of other family and friends.
