Bobby Louis Edwards was born on September 7, 1936 in Crawfordsville, Georgia. He was the only son that blessed the union of John Wesley Edwards and Lora Bell Ware. Bobby L. Edwards departed this life on July 11, 2016. At a young age Bobby and his family relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio. Thereafter, Bobby studied academics throughout the Cincinnati Public School system and was a graduate of Old Woodward High School. Bobby became employed with the General Motors Co. in 1967, where he worked at the GM Plant in Norwood, Ohio until the plant closed. He then relocated to Huber Heights, Ohio and continued to work at the Delphi Plant until his retirement in 1999.

Bobby joined the "Unique Wheels" Van Club in Cincinnati, Ohio in the 1970s and enjoyed the outdoors. He had a passion for gardening, fishing, and took pride in his yard work. Bobby also enjoyed watching sports with his partner, best friend, and lover of 36 years, Alice Edwards. Bobby and Alice were united in marriage August 11, 1979.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Wender Daniels and Lender Phillips; and one step-son, Derek Bray. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Alice Edwards; his aunt, Essie Jones; a son, Bobby Edwards, Jr., from a previous marriage to Bernice Edwards (Whitehead); a daughter with Nadine Johnson, Hyra Johnson; two step-daughters, Kimberly Jones (Clifton) and Cynthia Profitt (Steve); three step-sons, Mark Bray, Derron Bray, and Kevin Bray (Donna); and one daughter-in-law, Alice Bray. Bobby also leaves twelve grandchildren; Leon Edwards, Soroya Smith (Edwards), Lefon Edwards, Marcia Bray, Corey Bray (Chawnda), Ryan Bray, Brittny Holmes, Harrison Johnson, Maylaysia Denby, Geneva Boyd (Martina), Myles Bray, and Blake Profitt. Bobby leaves two brothers-in-law, Benjamin Spaulding (Jackie) and Larry Spaulding (Bonita); one sister-in-law, Barbara Anderson (Butch); three nieces, Tamara Brooks, Monie Phillips, and Candace Phillips. He also leaves seven great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.


Funeral Ceremony will be at 4:00 pm Saturday, July 23, 2016 with a visitation from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
