Brian Lee Givens, 61, of Cincinnati, OH passed away suddenly Friday May 14, 2021 in his home from complications related to a previous stroke.
Brian was born the second son to Shirley and Marion Givens on Wednesday January 6th, 1960. Brian completed Cincinnati Public Schools where he flourished in his vocational training of carpentry. Brian was born a leader and protector to his siblings. He was athletic, charming, diplomatic, and optimistic about life. Brian was a very curious soul, who also sought solutions to anything that was thrown his way. As a teenager, he discovered his talent for art by drawing and creating his own comic books. A huge fan of Bruce Lee, you would always find him making nunchucks for the kids in the community and showing off the latest Bruce Lee moves. A true warrior, not only for himself but to all that needed him. Brian was an avid chess player, African Art enthusiast, and Jazz music buff. He was an entrepreneur like his Cuban grandfather. Brian never held on to anger and he had a sincere desire for love and protection all children.
Brian is preceded by his parents Shirley and Marion Givens, and his siblings Augustus (Constance Ervin), Christopher and Kimberly (Michael) Fannon.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories to his devoted children, Alexandria, Anna, Tiffany (James), Leah (Joseph) Williams, Alexander (Sarah), Laffeyelle, and Myron. Surrogate father to many. Brian was grandfather of Timothy, Yasmin, Josiah, Aaliyah, Deasa, Jamir and AJ.
Brian's Siblings: Sharon, Deborah, Donna (Michael) Wallace, James, Michael, Princess, Gayle (Tom) Cousett, Mia, William, as well as many relatives and friends.
Honorable Mentions: Rexanne Mccoy, Yvonne Thomas, John Larkin, Lynette Beasley, Gordy Anderson, Orville and Steve Hedges, and Mark Jackson, and Sam Davis. And to all that was touched by the Life of Brian.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 2pm until the time of service at 4pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211.
