Bunnie G. Mcdonald

October 30, 1943 — October 18, 2022

Bunnie G. McDonald was born on October 30, 1943, in Cumberland County, North Carolina. He was the eldest son of Catheryn Harris's three children.

He was preceded in death by his middle son, Officer Charles Lee McDonald (2001); his mother, Catheryn Harris (2011); Hector Nevone (1989); Hazel Hayes (2000); Wilton McDonald (2014) and Earl (2012).

He was called by God to his heavenly home, departing this life on October18, 2022.

At an early age he joined Savannah Missionary Baptist Church where he served the Lord until he came to live in Cincinnati, Ohio with his mother, stepfather and two sisters. Bunnie joined the Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church in 1959 under the leadership of Rev. R.D.Wess.

He served faithfully in many church ministries over the years, including Usher & Pastor's Aid, a member of the all-male chorus until his health started to fail him. He remained a faithful member until his death.

On July 24th, 1964, Bunnie married his beloved wife, Patricia Williamson of Cincinnati and from this union had three boys, Darryl M. Williamson, Charles Lee McDonald (deceased) and Dennis B. McDonald. From these three sons he was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Andrea Booker (Andrew), Charles Lee McDonald, Anuya Miller, Cameron Williamson, Mathew Williamson, Lydia Williamson, Eleanor McDonald, Charlotte McDonald, Sophia McDonald, Titu McDonald and Rosina McDonald

Bunnie had a passion for a variety of things which included fishing, hunting, racing cars, cooking, gardening, traveling, and cruising the world, which we did a lot of after the children left the nest. He also enjoyed fellowshipping with family and friends. You would often see him driving around in his Corvette or big truck, which he cleaned every day, or working in his yard.

Bunnie had a love for people and would do anything for anyone and was always willing to serve or help you in any way he could.

He graduated from Lincoln Heights High School in 1962. He worked for Cincinnati Concrete Pipe Company for 38 years and Sears, in the Customer Service Department for 10+ years, retiring at the age of 55.

He joined the gym and worked out with friends and son, Charles McDonald (deceased), but most of the time was spent talking instead of working out.

Bunnie is survived by his wife and friend, Patricia McDonald, of more than 61 years and married for 58 years.

Continuing his legacy and cherishing his memories are two sons, Darryl McDonald Williamson of Cincinnati and Dennis D. McDonald (Jennifer) of Cincinnati; two sisters, Dannice Harris and Gloria Harris Pointer; five aunts, Pearl Howard, Glois Johnson, Eleanor Burns(John), Betty Lou Burns and Yvonne McDonald; mother- in-law, Odessa Williamson; six sisters-in-law, Lucille Johnson, Jacqueline Houston, Brenda Wadley, Rosalind Malone, Gwendolyn Sanders and Chrystal Kimbrough; two brothers-in- law, Lawrence Williamson (Kimberley) and Dwight Williamson ( Diane ); 11 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, along with his Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church family and his COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors) family.
