Calvin Lee Williamson departed this life on Sunday, August 17, 2014. Calvin was born on September 8, 1951 in Bessemer, Alabama to Mr. and Mrs. John L. Williamson. He confessed Christ at an early age. He was baptized at Saint Pius Catholic Church. He graduated from Courter Technical High School in 1970. Calvin began working in the utility business, first at Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company then moved to California where he worked for San Diego Gas and Electric and retired from Southern California Edison as an Energy Conservation Specialist.
Calvin was preceded in death by his father John L. Williamson and his brother John L. Williamson Jr. He leaves to mourn his beloved mother, Odessa M. Williamson; his daughter, Deanna Marie (Kevin) Goins of College Hill, OH; son, Calvin K. Williamson of Cincinnati, OH; seven sisters, Lucille Johnson of Cincinnati, OH, Jacqueline Houston of Cincinnati, OH, Patricia (Barney) McDonald of West Chester, OH, Brenda Wadley of Cincinnati, OH, Rosalind Williamson of Cincinnati, OH, Gwendolyn Sanderson of Cincinnati, OH, Crystal (Jeffrey) Kimbrough of Chicago, IL; two brothers, Dwight (Dianne) Williamson of Cincinnati, OH and Lawrence (Kimberly) Williamson of Detroit, MI; sister-in-law, Christine Williamson; four grandchildren, Calvin, Trevon, Marquis and Simone; aunts, Orias Lewis of Birmingham, AL, Daisy Williamson of Birmingham, AL, Ailene King of Chicago, IL and a host of nieces and nephews. Calvin was the fifth child of eleven children and will be loved and missed by a host of other relatives and friends.
Calvin was a loving and caring person with a smile and spirit that could light up any room. He was the life of the party. Calvin was a very business-savvy gentleman and provided well for his family. An affectionate son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew and friend. Calvin enjoyed cooking as well as music and could be found sitting on a porch or patio, legs crossed, listening to the radio. No matter his struggles, he always found comfort in enjoying a few tunes. Calvin always knew where to find his friends and loved ones who were only a phone call away, no matter the time.
