Candace Jean LaNier Davis, affectionately known as Candy, unexpectedly left this earthly plane on December 10, 2022 to join a host of angels in heaven. Candy was the second oldest child, born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Louise and Thomas LaNier on March 24, 1953. She was baptized at Mother of God Catholic Church in April 1953 and attended St. Mark Elementary School, Marian High School and graduated from Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) practical nursing in 1981. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for 30 years in various fields of nursing, Candy loved working with children, caring for geriatric clients and was always a firm believer in family involvement and the love of family. She also enjoyed volunteering at Church of the Resurrection and Catholic Charities.
Candy was a consistent and dependable friend to all those she encountered. Like an angel walking on the earth, she always greeted you with a smile and had a one-of-a-kind jolly, familiar and infectious laugh. With her magical ability to make those around her feel as if they were her favorite person, she made her friends, family and even strangers, feel special and loved! She also savored numerous hobbies including playing bingo, traveling and spending time with her family.
In 1977, Candy married Raymond Davis. She is survived by their only daughter Raquel A. Davis-Cobb and her 6 grandchildren/dolls: Ri'Ana Kandacee', RaNia Khalee-ImaJean, RaQuel Kayden ("Itsy"), Ri'Elle Anistyn (her birthday twin), Rei'Layah ("Chunka"), and Jonathan Brown Jr. ("J.J."). Additionally, Candy was the loving sister of Gerald, Terence (deceased), Carijean, Sheila (Howard), Duane (Leah), Michael, Andre (Tracie), plus many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her immensely. To God be the glory!
