Wonderful mother, doting grandmother and faithful friend; Carolyn Olivia Mayfield, age 77, was called home to our Lord on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born on December 10, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Purcell Davis and Betty Frances Gilford.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Melvin Mayfield; daughters, Vicki (Bret) Brady, and Venicia Mayfield; grandchildren, Adam Brady, Malyssa (Zach) Peterson, Grayson Brady and Michael Mayfield and a host of other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and only brother, Robert Gilford.
Family and friends may gather on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy, Ohio. A private family memorial service will follow beginning at 12:00PM. Future inurnment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Cleves, Ohio. Social distancing measures will be strictly enforced with masks worn at all times. If this gathering would become a super-spreader event, I fear Mom would return to let us know of her displeasure.
