Catherine Marie Donaworth, a cherished mother, devoted wife, and beloved grandmother, passed away on December 28, 2024, at the age of 86 in Edgewood, Kentucky. Born on February 18, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Catherine embodied a kind and loving spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her. A simple woman with a heart full of compassion, Catherine dedicated over 40 years of her working life to the Ralph Fulton VFW Post 6423 in Elsmere, where her warmth and commitment became a cornerstone of the community. Her passion for service and her deep love for those around her left an indelible mark on the lives she encountered.

Catherine was a proud supporter of the University of Kentucky, exhibiting an unwavering loyalty that highlighted her passionate nature. She shared 43 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, James Robert Donaworth.

Catherine is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Ronald) Vertner and Catherine (John) VanDyke; her sons, Victor (Cheryl) Donaworth, Robert (Debbie) Donaworth, and Allen (Tammy Tungate) Donaworth; as well as numerous grandchildren, including William Teegarden, Kimberly (Jerry) Hicks, Shawna (John) Napier, James (Corey) Sebree, Cheryl (Donald) Douglas, Timmy (Ann Sider) Donaworth and Leandra (Lester) Closson. A number of great-grandchildren also cherish her memory, including Ryan and Rylie Teegarden, Luke (Gracie Lauderman), Steven (Adrieonia France), and Alexander (Ciera) Schieber, Logan, Ayden, Daryle and Colton Rousseau, Cheyenne and Braden Bucker, and Blake Donaworth. Additionally, she held a special bond with Matthew Linneman, who she considered like a son.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Corine Mary Hines (nee Johnson), and her husband, James Robert Donaworth.

Catherine’s life will be honored with a visitation on January 2, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Erlanger, Kentucky. A Mass celebrating her life will follow at St. Henry Catholic Church at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at St. John Cemetery in Fort Mitchell.

As we reflect on her life, we remember Catherine Marie Donaworth as a pillar of kindness and a true embodiment of love within her family and community. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
