Catherine Sue Smith, a cherished soul, passed away peacefully on November 15 2024, surrounded by her loving family in Florence, Kentucky. Born on June 12, 1957, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she brought joy and warmth to the lives of many throughout her journey.

Sue's vibrant spirit was deeply rooted in her profound love for family. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Rhonda (Michael) Russell, Karen (Robert) Lantzer, and Shirley (Jerry) Hailey, who will forever remember the laughter and love she shared with them. Her heart swelled with pride for her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom she cherished every moment, fostering memories that will carry her legacy forward.

Family ties ran deep for Sue, as she was also supported by her dear sister, Linda (the late Don) Popp, and her brother, Mike (the late Sheila) Hayes. She held her relatives close and formed bonds that transcended time, drawing together a host of other family members and friends who will miss her radiant presence.

Sue was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Hayes (nee Baker), and her father, Walter Hayes, along with her brothers, Jackie and Jerry Hayes. Their spirits will surely welcome her with open arms.

A woman of simple joys, Sue found happiness in playing BINGO and indulging in her favorite Hallmark Christmas movies. These moments of joy defined Sue's character — her loving heart and lighthearted spirit shone through in every interaction she shared with those fortunate enough to know her.

Sue's life will be celebrated during visitation on November 19, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Erlanger, Kentucky. A graveside service will follow at Reading Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio, at 2:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor a life filled with love and cherished memories.
