She was preceded in death by her father, Otha Staples. Cheryle is survived by her beloved son, Evan R. Ashford; mother, Delorise Staples; grandson, Aidan Ashford; siblings, Jerry and Douglas Staples; niece, Shawana Whitmire; and a host of other family members and friends.
