Clara Mae Speakman, a retiree of FedEx and long-time resident of Irvington, NJ, departed on January 24, 2021 at the age of 71.
Clara Mae Speakman (Brown) was born in Birmingham, Alabama on February 9, 1949 to Bennie Lee Brown and Roddie Lee Felton. Clara Mae worked as an Information Agent with FedEx in Newark, NJ before moving to and retiring in Florence, Kentucky.
Clara Mae was a beloved mother and grandmother. She enjoyed helping others with any problem they faced. She enjoyed researching information on the internet to help whenever there was a need. Clara Mae was very generous with her time and attention towards her family and friends. She was always available to listen and offer advice. Clara Mae enjoyed good conversations. She loved conversing with family and friends daily. Clara Mae was a devout believer in God. At the age of 19 she dedicated her life to Christ accepting him as her Lord and Savior and developed a personal relationship with God that remained constant throughout her life.
Clara Mae will be deeply missed by her daughters, grandsons, family, friends, and those who were blessed to have known her.
Clara Mae is survived by her three daughters, Rhonda Speakman, Cincinnati OH, Eugenia Greaves (Temuljin), Mechanicsburg PA, and Monique Speakman, Florence, KY; two grandsons, Lamar Doles and Juwan Robinson; two great-grandchildren, Bradley and Rhyleigh Doles; a nephew, four nieces, her uncle, Roger Felton, a host of cousins, her dear friend of over 40 years, Leroy Gass, and many other friends that held special places in her heart.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. Burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
