Connie R. Cunningham

Connie R. Cunningham (née Hill) was born in Cincinnati, Ohio December 12, 1944 to the late Wardell and Goldie Hill. She went to sleep in the arms of our Lord on July 21, 2022.
Connie was preceded in death by her brothers, Harry Johnson, Wardell Hill, Melvin Hill, and Michael Hill; her sisters, Joan Ivory (née Hill), and Carole J. Burns (née Hill).
She attended the Cincinnati Public Schools. She graduated from Robert A. Taft High School, Class of 1963. Connie married Curtis Wilson Cunningham, who also preceded her in death. Born to this union was Curtis Wilson "Chris" Cunningham, II. Chris was the love of Connie's life.
Connie attended Central State University in Xenia, Ohio. To help her while she attended college, her brother, Bobby, moved up to Xenia to help care for Chris. Connie was laser-focused on college which enabled her to complete her Bachelors of Science Psychology Degree in Special Education in two and a half years. You see, Connie had a plan and a purpose.
Connie retired from the Hamilton County Department of Jobs and Family Services as a Children's Services Supervisor in 2007. Many may know her from working at Lane Bryant in Swifton Commons. She also worked as the Interim Executive Director at Women Helping Women. Connie loved helping people. After retirement she worked at Families Forward, First Student, and Macy's. She enjoyed working at Macy's; one problem working at Macy's - she spent too much of her paycheck shopping there.
Connie's community service included volunteering at Women Helping Women, Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Board member, the Ronald McDonald House, and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Connie leaves to cherish her memories her only child, Curtis Wilson Cunningham, II aka "Chris"; one brother, Robert "Bobby" Hill; a special niece, Michelle Owens; a special nephew, Donald Burns; a neighbor, Miss Steele; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, August 13, 2022 with a visitation from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
