Connie Vample

Mrs. Connie Vample was born in South Boston, Virginia on March 10, 1931 and departed this life on November 12, 2015. She was the daughter of William and Bessie Mae Medley. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour and was baptized at an early age. She was first married to Harvey Harris and they were blessed with a daughter named Sharon. She then married Luther Vample and was blessed with four children; Lawrence, James, Tonda and Floronda. She worked in her early years as a diamond setter in New York City. Later in her career she worked for Drake's Bakery on Long Island. When she would return home she greeted us with the sweet smell of the bakery and brought us good devil dog cakes as her loving way of treating us. She retired after five years and became a stay at home mom.

Wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt; but the title which describes her best is FRIEND. Connie Vample befriended those in need and was always willing to reach out a helping hand.

She is survived by her daughters and sons, Sharon, Lawrence, Tonda, James (deceased), and Floronda and son-in-law James Piwarun; grandchildren, Lawrence Jr., Joseph, Adam, Jarmon, Kyanna, Elliott, Lauren, Kara, Sierra, and Jessica; 8 great grandchildren; brother William Jr. and her sister-in-law Karen Medley; sister Shiela Medley; and a host of family and friends.


Funeral Ceremony will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 17, 2015 with a visitation from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
