Corinne was born in Abbeville, Alabama on September 5, 1924; the only child of the late Fannie and Issac Hamilton.
At age 5, Corinne moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. Here she was raised by her mother, Fannie and Stepfather, Hase Smith. Corinne accepted Christ at an early age at St. Paul A.M.E. where she received her biblical studies and teachings.
A product of the public school system, she attended Sherman Primary, Bloom Jr. High, and graduated from Old Woodward High School. After graduation, she briefly attended the University of Cincinnati before marrying Robert Greene. She was a housewife raising two children, Rita and Marty, As a young mother, she taught Sunday school, sold real estate part-time, and was President of the PTA. Later in life Corinne found herself a single parent, Yet she still found time to be an active member of both her high school Alumni Association and The Black Women's Leadership Caucus. In 1973, she completed college and graduated from U.C.
Corinne was employed 30 years at the Hamilton County Welfare Department, qualifying families for financial assistance. She transferred to the Children's Services Department, where she specialized in custody investigation for the Hamilton County Juvenile Court System. She presented a report to the court with recommendations for custody of minor children. She always loved children—the back seat of her car served as a temporary nursery with toys and stuffed animals for the children.
Corinne called Atlanta home for 10 years. She resided at Arbor Terrace at Cascade for the first nine years and with her daughter, Rita, the final year of her life.
