September 8th, 2023, David D. Windsor Sr. age 75, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away at home with his beloved wife Mary Kay (Rasche) at his side. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 30th, 1948, to the late William D. and Edna M. Windsor (nee Thiel). Dave was one of nine children. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy and honorably served as a Seaman Apprentice during the Vietnam War.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son, David D. (Debbie) Windsor, his siblings, Dean, Wayne, Ed, Leetha and Phillip Windsor.

Dave and Mary Kay married in 1972 and just celebrated their 51st Wedding Anniversary. Dave logged over 3 million miles driving across the United States as a long-haul truck driver, and he had many stories to tell us once he arrived home. Dave was always reliable at work and never missed a delivery. This earned him his trucker handle the "Satisfier." When he was on the road Mary Kay would dedicate songs to him from the Dale "Truckin' Bozo" Sommers radio show. One of his (and ours) personal favorites was Alabama's Roll On (Eighteen-Wheeler). We would all listen to it together waiting for him to arrive home. On his 45th birthday Mary Kay dedicated their song to him, "Forever and Ever, Amen" by Randy Travis with a special birthday shout out over the radio. Listen to the lyrics of both songs and you will understand the love they had for each other and how much he was missed when he was away earning a living.
Dave was a simple man who loved to spend time with his family and loved ones. He was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and quick sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, witty, and supportive. He enjoyed watching movies at home and at the movie theater with family. This is something he has passed down to his children and their children. In his later years he would book vacations in the Outer Banks and take the entire family which has grown throughout the years. He loved to make his family happy and create everlasting memories. Being together is what it was all about for him.
His feline companions were near and dear to him. He loved all animals and treated them like family. Baby and BJ stayed behind with Mary Kay, but Bubba is with him now where he is giving him an excessive number of treats.
This poem will sum up Dave's life and the impact he had on his family:
"A Fallen Limb" – Author: Unknown: "A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me." Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed."
In typical Dave fashion, there will be no services planned. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Cincinnati VA Medical Center in his name:

He was so thankful for the care, dedication and respect the staff at the VA Hospital provided to him during his stays.
Dave is now free of pain and in peace. His memory will live on within all of us.
