Deloris Johnson was born December 2, 1942 to the union of the late William Shack and Sarah Lewis in Woodward, Alabama. Her sisters Janie Ruth Ward (Fred-deceased) and Geraldine Lockett (Bryant-deceased) preceded her in death.
Deloris moved to Cincinnati with her husband George L. Johnson (Kathy) in 1959. Though they later divorced they remained close friends and allies in their children's lives. For many years Deloris was a valued homemaker until she went to work at Santa Maria Day Care Center from where she later retired. Deloris accepted Christ and was known as a loving church mother.
Deloris' wide smile and infectious laugh touched everyone who knew her. Among those who remain to cherish her memory are her step-mother, Christine Shack; siblings, William "Edward" Shack (Jennifer), and Edith Shack-Moore of Yucca Valley, California, Velma Strappman (Calvin-deceased), William "Elgin" Shack (Claire) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Reuben "Wayne" (Rosena) Shack, and Lovell Shack (Ruby) of Brighton, Alabama.
Deloris was a loving mother to Morris Gray (Priscilla), Annette Hardin (Stanley-deceased), Carolyn Edwards (Antonio), Felicia Nelson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Elondra Simmons (Gregory) of Louisville, Kentucky, and Darlene Johnson (Michael) of Salt Lake City, Utah. Deloris was a blessed and cherished "Lois-Lois" to grandchildren that stretch four generations. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
