Dietrich "Dieter" G. Neumann, age 70, of Crosby Township, Ohio passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 11, 2019.
He was born in Meinholz, Germany, on December 27, 1948 to August and Gertrude Neumann (nee Dahl).
He was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law, Herbert Milkuhn.
Dieter served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
Dieter was passionate about backpacking in the Smokey Mountains with his friends, and hiking in North Carolina.
Dieter is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Astrid E. Milkuhn-Neumann; three sons, Erik Neumann, Jesse (Melissa) Neumann, and Nathan (Liezl) Neumann; known as "Opi" to his four grandchildren, Hannah, Aidan, Natalie and Ethan; brother, Manfred (Brigitta) Neumann; two nieces, Tina (Marty) Meyers and Michelle Turner; mother-in-law, Irmgard Milkuhn; brother-in-law, Gerhard (Mary) Milkuhn; and faithful companion, his dog Sienna; and a host of other family members and friends.
In loving memory of Dieter and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, 644 Linn Street, Suite 1026, Cincinnati, OH 45203 or the Christ Lutheran Church, 3301 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45251.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church, 3301 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45251, at 11:00AM.
