Donald Arthur John Burke, age 87, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on January 27, 2024. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on May 25, 1936, to Walter and Lillian Burke (nee Aust).
Don attended Saint Gregory and Mount Saint Mary's seminaries. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a devout Catholic and an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes parish for over 25 years, where he served as a sacristan and led communion services. Prior to that, he served for many years as a sacristan and communion minister at Saint William Parish. He enjoyed a 40 year career with Proctor and Gamble.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Paul Burke, and his sister, Mary Ann Sullivan (nee Burke).
Don is survived by his loving wife, of 58 years, Elizabeth ("Betty") Burke (nee Siebenburgen), son, Eric Burke, daughters Emily Jenkins (nee Burke) and Susan Burke, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Burke (nee Calloway), son-in-law, Jochen Cammin, and grandchildren, Thomas Jenkins and Julia Burke.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 3, 2024 in the Gathering Space of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 3450 Lumardo Drive, Cincinnati (45238) from 9:30 AM until 10:15 AM when the family will share a Eulogy. The funeral mass will begin at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at St Joseph Old Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Don, memorial contributions may be made to The Little Sisters of the Poor, 476 Riddle Road, Cincinnati, Ohio (45220).
