Donald Cox Anderson, age 72, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 20, 1942 to the late David Cox and Sarah Jo Jackson. On Friday, April 24th, 2015, he was called to be with the Lord.
As a young man Donald attended Lincoln Heights High School and later raised his family within the Cincinnati area. Donald (aka) "Don" or "Big Don" retired from GE in 2002 as a machinist. He will be remembered and cherished for his charismatic personality and sense of humor...regardless of shock value! He never met a stranger and loved all animals, especially his dogs, including Beau- Beau and Sacha.
Don's passions in life were all about music, family, and cuisine. As a versatile all around performer, he was a bassist, singer, band manager and director.
Don was also a founding member of DAB Band and performed with the Silvertones, James Brown, and many other famous acts. More recently he managed the Blues Jam Session at Poor Michael's Pub in Pleasant Run, Ohio.
Don will be dearly missed by his devoted and loving wife of 32 years, Linda S. Anderson (nee Bell); children, Donnie (Darlene) Dunn, Geneva Springs, Dewitt (Regina) Anderson, Danita 'Gert' (Everette) Moore, Nicole (James) Brown-Joyner, and Brandon (Christine) Bell; siblings, Gequilla Harris, Esther Vickie Olglebee, Portia Cox-Walker, Delores Burton, Lewis Burton, Keith Burton, and Jackie Cox; grandchildren, Brandin, Tyanna, Jazmine, Chastity, Marla, Lauren A., Lauren D., Dante, Jonae, Keisha, Brandon, Teran, Jayden, Violet, and Caschae`; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other special extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Cox and Sarah Jo Jackson, and his siblings; David Leon Cox, Charles Cox, Sr., Marilyn Glover, and Danny Martin.
