BROWN, Dorothy Jean, age 53 of Cincinnati sadly departed this life on July 9, 2014, while sleeping peacefully at home. She was born in Cincinnati on March 31, 1961 the daughter of James and Nannie Mae (Pryor) Rucker. On June 17, 1991 she married her best friend and soul mate, Clarence Edward Brown. From this union came three beautiful daughters, Latara Rashaunda Pryor, Amber Javon (Pryor) Thompson and Faith Monique Pryor. As a child, Dorothy was a self-professed bookworm that loved to babysit. As an adult, she was a childcare provider for many years and loved the children like her own.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her baby girl, Faith Pryor; her parents, James and Nannie Rucker; her half-brother, James "Jimmie" Rucker Jr.; and her aunt who was more like a sister, Belinda Broadwater. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Clarence Edward Brown; her daughters, Latara Pryor and Amber and her husband Kenneth Thompson; four grandchildren, Zhiarah Griffin, DreVonnah "Nonny" Pryor, Jaidyn Pryor, and Kamari Thompson; her brother, James "Benny" Rucker; her sister Kimberly "Moochie" Rucker; four half-siblings, Jeanette Rucker, Ronald "Ronnie" Rucker, Lamar "ManMan" Rucker and Latonia "Pig" Rucker; her nieces, Candace Rucker, Ciara Rucker, Makeedra Loften, Ashley Pryor, and Jamela Pryor; her nephew, James "Lil Benny" Pryor; two very special friends, Stephanie Miller and Bonita Birch; Lori Seale whom she took under her wing as her own daughter; and a host of other family and friends who she loved dearly.
Dorothy touched the lives of everyone that she came into contact with, whether being a listening ear, a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on. Everyone that knows her knew her second home was Wal-Mart and she loved a bargain. There was not a problem anyone had that Dorothy did not have a solution to. We are happy to have the privilege to have her in our lives and her presence will be truly missed.
