Dorothy O'Banion

Dorothy O'Banion, a devoted mother, grandmother, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully in her home on October 2, 2024, in Florence, Kentucky, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on April 20, 1928, in Hamilton, Ohio, Dorothy exemplified unwavering faithfulness and loyalty throughout her life, embodying the qualities of a devoted matriarch.

Dorothy's warmth and kindness were felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a source of strength and support for her family, always providing a listening ear and a comforting presence. As a mother, she nurtured her children with love and guidance, instilling values that would carry them through life’s journey.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Judy (Charles) White, who carries forward Dorothy's spirit of love and devotion. Dorothy found immense joy in being a grandmother to her grandchildren: Chi O'Banion, Larry O'Banion, Jr., Laura O'Banion, Charles White, Jr., Shannon White Ellis, Stephanie White Custis and Sean O'Banion. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she rejoiced in the milestones of their lives. Her legacy also continues through her numerous great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her sons, Larry O'Banion and Randy O'Banion, her grandson, Christopher O'Banion, and her parents, Charles "Charlie" Collins and Carrie Collins (nee Garrison). Her siblings, Bobby Collins, Thelma Freeman and Betty Collins, also preceded her in death.

A visitation will be held in her honor at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northern Kentucky, 4350 Dixie Hwy. Erlanger, KY 41018 on October 14, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service celebrating her life at 6:00 PM.

Dorothy’s spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, a testament to the love she shared and the bonds she nurtured. Her life was a beautiful journey, deeply enriching the lives of those around her, and she will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
