Edith Elizabeth Carroll, often referred to as "Muv or Miss Edie" was born on August 12, 1917 to the late Lafeyette and Priscilla Carroll in Milford, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rowena, three brothers, Robert, Russell, Leonard and grandsons, Ronald and Dee.
While attending Wilberforce College, Edith met and married the late Enos Williams. To this union four children were born; Jackie, Carol, Lloyd and Don. Edith played softball for the Blue Flames and often bragged how nothing got past her on 1st base. She never missed a game of basketball or football when Lloyd and Don played.
Edith accepted Christ by profession of faith under the leadership of Rev. Alexander Greene on May 7, 1944 and was baptized on June 25, 1944. Edith was a faithful member of Calvary United Methodist Church for 69 years and served in many areas of the church. She was the church secretary, membership secretary and administrative council secretary. She also served on the Women's Guild, the Women's Society of Christian Service, Pastor Parish Relations, assisted Children's Sunday School and the cleaning crew before Calvary had a janitor. There was no job too small or too large.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory: 4 children, 7 grandchildren , 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, 1 great-nephew and 1 great-great nephew.
Edith will be greatly missed, but God needed another flower for his bouquet.
