Edna Mae Sams, age 88, of Elsmere, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. She was born in Burnside, Kentucky on February 6, 1932 to James Dewey and Nannie Elizabeth Russell (nee Foster). Edna loved movies, especially scary movies. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, art, and was a faithful member of Asbury Tabernacle Church and a member of the Daughter of Veterans Cincinnati Chapter. As an avid reader, she easily found herself lost in a book. Mostly she loved spending time with her family and valued each and every one of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Frankie Sams, daughter, Rebecca Miller, son, Frankie Sams, Jr., grandson, Johnny D. Burdine, Jr., great-granddaughter, Robin M. Baldrick, sister, Mary Burton, brothers, James Russell, Lesty Russell, and John Russell.
Edna is survived by her daughters, Connie (Thomas) West, Brenda Pitcher; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Inman,Ida Rothwell, Betty Thompson; and a host of other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northern Kentucky Chapel, 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky 41018. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 12:00 with a burial after at Baltimore Pike Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
