"His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." These were the words that Elbert Raleigh, Jr., 81, of Villa Hills, Kentucky heard on the eve of Monday, February 7, 2022 at his home.
He was born in Talbert, Kentucky in Breathitt County on January 25, 1941 to the late Elbert and Bess Raleigh (nee Johnson).
Mr. Raleigh worked for many years with FedEx as a Truck Driver and served our country Honorably as a United States Marine.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Vance Raleigh and Morrell Raleigh as well as two sisters Nancy Young and Janet Raleigh.
"June Honey" as he was called by his beloved wife of 56 years, leaves behind his wife Polly Raleigh (nee Herald); two children, Losa (Gary) Policastro and Markeita (Jeffery Sams, II) Turner; three siblings, Armina Lee, Linda Raleigh and Barbara Goines; three grandchildren, Ian (Jamiela) Bryant Gerin Policastro and Grace Turner; four great grandchildren, Isabella Policastro, Jeeonna Policastro, Joe Policastro and Ellie Bryant; as well as a host of other family members and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northern Kentucky Chapel, 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky with words of comfort and reassurance delivered by Randall Barker, Don Howard and Ravi Isaiah. Burial will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Kentucky.
Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, February 14, 2022 from 4-8 pm at the funeral home.
