Johnson-Bridges, Emma J. age 81, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 22, 1933 to Charles and Rosella Graham (nee Donaldson).
Emma accepted Christ at an early age and has been a long time member of the choir and Bible studies at the New Vision Missionary Baptist Church in Norwood, Ohio. Emma graduated from Withrow High School. She was married to Charles W. Johnson until his passing in 1980. She then married Floyd Bridges, and they were married until his passing in 2010. Emma worked in the tailoring industry until her retirement in 1996. Working in the garment industry was not only a job, but it became a hobby for Emma. She was a consummate seamstress. She loved the fashion industry so much she organized trips for friends and family to go shopping in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Emma enjoyed traveling, taking trips to Paris, France and several to California to visit her son, Ronald, and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles W. Johnson; husband Floyd Bridges; grandson, Ruben A. Hubacek; brothers, Henry Graham, Charles A. Graham Jr.; sister, Dorothy Dillard. Emma is survived by her daughter, Charlene V. Ellis; son, Ronald D. (Anastasia) Johnson; granddaughter, Wendy R. (Russell Davis) Ellis; grandson, Jacques P. Ellis; granddaughter, Anastasia (Martin) Liska; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral Ceremony will be at 11:00 am Thursday, May 14, 2015 with a visitation from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
