Emma Mae Williams age 86, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024. She was born in Jackson, Georgia on February 14, 1938 to the late Thomas and Dorothy Williams (nee Berry).
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Lee Williams; sisters and brothers, Essie Owensby, James Williams, Willie Waklasti, Dorothy Baker, Thomas Williams, and Shirley Williams.
Emma is survived by her beloved children, Janice (Bob ) Howard, Ramona Williams, Grady L. Williams, Gary L. Williams, Relavette L. Williams, and Garinzo L. Williams; 39 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-great-grandchild; sister, Mary "Mae" Jane Booker; best friend, Alice Owens; and a host of other family members and friends.
Emma's mother passed when she was 14 and there after she put her life on hold to care for the 5 siblings up under her and getting up 6:00 in the morning to prepare breakfast for her father before he went to work. After raising her other siblings, she began to take in and care for nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was always giving of her time and what little means she may have had, she would give you her last, and never complained she just kept that beautiful smile on her face despite the hardship she accepted the licking and kept on ticking, that was Emma!
Emma loved playing cards especially Spades, dancing and listening to music, loved shopping and was a member of the Oak Hills Jehovahs Witness Congregation. In addition to caring for other family members, she was also certified through Hamilton County to care for other children for over 14 years. She was the Matriarch "Queen Bee", and the backbone of the family that of which she greatly loved.
Funeral Ceremony will be 2:00 pm Saturday, May 11, 2024 with a visitation from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211.
Emma's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
