Eric Deaton, Sr.

Eric Deaton, Sr., age 74, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023 at his home. He was born in Barbourville, Kentucky on September 29, 1949 to Burchell and Chelsia Deaton (nee Hinkle).

Eric was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Arvel Deaton and James Deaton. Eric is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Deaton (nee Baker); his son, Eric Deaton, Jr. and his daughter, Chasity (Brian) Herzner; grandchildren, Chelsia (Jace) Rice, Brianna Herzner and Bryce Herzner; great-grandchildren, Winter Rice and River Rice; brother, Don (Connie) Deaton; sisters, Bonnie (Troy) Kidwell, Jackie (Jimmy) Bowling and Janet (Mike) Crowley; and a host of other family members and friends.

Eric enjoyed spending time swinging on his front porch, dancing in the living room with his wife, arm wrestling with his son, playing the ponies, and playing poker with family and friends. He loved cooking for his grand-babies, and watching 'Ma and Pa Kettle' with his daughter while eating his famous biscuits and gravy or Busken Bakery donuts. He also enjoyed horsing around with his son-in-law, Brian, who he lovingly earned the cherished title "Pops" from.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm with a service to follow at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northern Kentucky Chapel, 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky 41018.

Burial will take place immediately following for a 2pm graveside service at Mt. Orab Cemetery, 103 Day Rd, Mt Orab, OH 45154.
