Evelyn Adelaide Iacobucci
June 5, 1929 — February 3, 2021
Evelyn Adelaide Iacobucci, age 91, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. She was born in Cincinnati on June 5, 1929 to Albert and Marie Katherine Thien (nee Scally).
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pat M. Iacobucci; her sister, Dorothy Heffron; and her brother, Albert Thien.
Evelyn graduated from Our Lady of Angels high school in 1947 and married her childhood sweetheart, Pat Iacobucci, in 1949. She continued her education several years later and was a trailblazer for her time. She devoted her entire adult life to health care. She received her LPN certificate from St. Francis Hospital and graduated from the first Associate degree program in Nursing from the Raymond Walters branch of the University of Cincinnati in 1969. She later went on to become an RN with a specialty in Cardiac Care. She loved her work and became a team leader of the cardiac unit at Providence Hospital. She was admired by her co-workers and loved by her patients. Her passion was caring about others.
She was a loving mother to her children and adored her grandchildren. She took much pride in her children's accomplishments and was delighted her grandchildren had a great education.
Her home was always opened to family and friends. Where there was Evelyn, there was always a party! Whether it was around the pool where friends and family would joyfully gather, in the kitchen or dining room table, Evelyn was the hostess with the mostest, always providing nourishment in so many ways, and a good time that was had by all. She was a gem and will always remain that way in our hearts.
Evelyn loved to travel with family and friends to Ireland, Europe and she and Pat took various cruises and road trips. And closer to home, she created magical memories of fun summers at the family cottage on Williamstown Lake with those she loved.
Evelyn loved gardening and caring for the many birds and squirrels who showed up for the daily buffet line in her backyard. Always the provider, they flocked to her back yard for nutrition each day and of course brought lots of joy to her.
Evelyn is survived by her beloved children, Anthony (Susan) Iacobucci and Michele (David) Kerchman; her grandchildren, Dominic (Jessica) Iacobucci, Angela (Jeremy) Aronow, Zachary Kerchman and Haley Kerchman (betrothed to Andrew Schultz); her great-grandchildren, Leonardo and Adelaide Iacobucci, Genevieve and Callan Aronow; and a host of other family members and friends.
