Faith Marie Hingsbergen

Faith Marie Hingsbergen age 17 of Cincinnati, Ohio gained her wings on June 1, 2024 at the dawn of a beautiful Spring day resting beside her beloved Mother Shelly and surrounded by the loving and caring staff of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital PICU, Child Life, Spiritual Care Team, Starshine Hospice and all Faith’s doctors and caregivers past and present. Faith was born in Cincinnati on September 28, 2006 to the joy of her parents Shelly (Eckel) and Marc Hingsbergen and her big brother Ayden Hingsbergen.

She was a beautiful girl who bravely faced many challenges dealing with both Down Syndrome with its associated issues and mitochondrial disease which was the greater underlying challenge. After two open heart surgeries within her first two years, she experienced a mitochondrial setback in 2010 that greatly affected her body coming home under the care of Starshine Hospice and her amazing nurse Audrey Butterfield. From the years 2010 to 2024 she continued to prove her strength and will and blessing us and many others with her continued joyful presence always with a smile and a hearty belly laugh. Those who knew her cannot deny her affect once met. We truly believe she was an angel on Earth sent from Heaven to bless those she met.

Faith’s parents Shelly and Marc along with her brother Ayden and all her pets will miss her greatly but also understand it was her time to leave. She in her braveness along with God’s guidance gave us all one last blessing.

Grandparents Joanne and Jerry Eckel, Betty and Neil Hingsbergen, Godparents Debbie and Jeff Rogers, special friends Bill and Kate MacEachen, Maria and Dickie Edwards, many loving Aunts and Uncles, cousins, Joe Nuxhall Miracle League family, Southern Ohio Biker family, United States Marine Corps Biker family, Oak Hills School staff, Ray Vaught, GloBall friends, OSER-ROTH and friends and of course Starshine Hospice who brought joy to our family through their visits and friendship over the years.

Our thanks to Newcomer for assisting us with arrangements. We plan on a Celebration of Life in conjunction with an event to raise funds for research as well as a celebration in helping with the next chapter of Joe Nuxhall Miracle League, The Hope Center. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to this cause which can be found at www.nuxhallmiracleleague.org and watch for announcement of COL “Fun”raiser. Faith lived her life with joy and we intend to honor that by bringing joy to others as we can.
