Fitzhugh Lee Corr

May 22, 1934 — December 20, 2023

Fitz was born in New York City and grew up in Bronxville, N.Y. After graduating from Georgetown University, he joined the United States Marine Corp, went to Officers Candidate School, and was commissioned a Lieutenant.

Fitz began his career at Lever Brothers then joined Burgoyne Marketing Services in Cincinnati as a trainee and retired 30 years later as their Chairman & CEO.

He fell in love with Cincinnati and "wanted to pay the city back with gratitude" by involving himself with civic efforts. To name a few of his charity and civic works, he chaired the Chamber's Justice & Public Safety Committee, was a member of the Cincinnati Citizens Police Committee, was influential in bringing Crime Stoppers to Cincinnati, was a Cincinnati Symphony Maefest Board Member, and was voted FOPA Citizen of the Year 1989.

In retirement, he joined the Service Core of Retired Executives (SCORE) where he served as Chairman. He also worked for Senior Services of Northern Kentucky, where he served as an outreach counselor for indigent and other seniors in Campbell County. Fitz was honored as a Kentucky Colonel, was inducted into the Congregation of Divine Providence as an Associate and was a "friend of Bill W" sponsoring many meetings at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Sun Behavioral and Cincinnati Gospel Mission.

Fitz loved sports of all sorts, reading, all animals (especially rescue and those that needed a home) and traveling the world with his wife, Ace.

Fitz leaves behind his loving wife, Mary Alice (Ace), three sons: Fitzhugh (Hugh) Corr, Jr, John Corr, Joseph (Ned) Corr, and grandsons Michael Corr and Christian Corr. He is preceded in death by his son Andrew Corr.

After a private graveside burial, Fitz's final resting place is next to his son, Andrew, at St. John's Cemetery in Ft. Wright, KY.

Memorials can be made in his name to Kenton County Animal Shelter, 1020 Mary Ladley Road, Covington, KY; a No-Kill Animal Shelter of your Choice; or Wounded Warriors Foundation.
