Freeman Perkins, age 58 of Cincinnati passed away at Mercy Hospital – Mt. Airy on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 12:20 AM. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on September 26, 1953 the son of John Henry and Johnnie Bell (Deramus) Perkins. Freeman was a veteran in the United States Army, serving our country from 1975 until he was honorably discharged in 1984 and was employed with Doubletree Suites for the past several years.
He is survived by four daughters, Tameka Williams of Alabama, Lisa Marie Jonathan)Perkins Gibson of Cincinnati, Lynn Marie Perkins of Cincinnati, and Tiarra LaFaye Austin of Cincinnati; one son, Freeman Lowe of Cincinnati;a step-daughter, Markita (Jaws) Lowe; four grandchildren; five sisters, Linda Faye Cherry of North College Hill, Alberta Underwood of Birmingham, Alabama, Ruby and her husband Ernest Travis of Cincinnati, Johnnie Diane and her husband Clifford Burns of Birmingham, Alabama, Barbara and her husband Isaac Love of Prattville, Alabama, and Daisy Perkins of Birmingham, Alabama; and five brothers, Lonzell Spruel of Cincinnati, Johnny Spruel of Cincinnati, Fred Perkins of Birmingham, Alabama, James Perkins of Birmingham, Alabama, and Charles Fencher of Birmingham, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two daughters, Ashley and Janice Renee Perkins.The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Patricia for being with Freeman in his time of need.
Funeral service will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Kenneth Robinson Jr. of New Life Outreach officiating. Burial will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service. A repast will be held at the Springfield Township Senior Community Center, 9158 Winton Road, Cincinnati, OH. 45231, following the graveside service.
