Garry Grant was born on June 13, 1970 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the blessed union of David Lee and Annie Mae Grant. He was the seventh child out of nine children. "Fats", as he was affectionately called, was educated in the Mt. Healthy school system. When his health permitted him, Garry worked in the construction field as a laborer.
At an early age, Garry accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized in 1978 at Canaan Light Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Larry Bradley. He took an active part in church work. Garry was a member of the church choir, was one of the youngest members of the male chorus, and he attended Sunday School.
Despite his illness, Garry was full of life. Fishing was his passion, but he also enjoyed hunting, grilling, and being with his family.
Garry fought a good fight here on earth until early Tuesday morning on April 7, 2015, when the Lord decided that his work here on earth was completed and he called him home.
Fats will be remembered as a loving son, fiancé, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He will be dearly missed by his catching smile and speaking his mind.
