Gary J. Jones, Sr.

Gary James Jones, Sr. age 66, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014. He was born on April 23, 1948 to James and Elva M. (Bell) Jones.

Gary attended and graduated from Hughes High School in 1967. While in high school he was involved with the track team. Thereafter, he proudly served in The United States Armed Forces branch of the Army. While in the Army he served and fought for our United States in the Vietnam War. Later he began a career and retired after 26 years from The Ford Motor Company.

Gary met his childhood friend and beloved wife, Sharon L. Jones when they were 13 years of age. On October 2nd, 1971 they united in holy matrimony. Soon after they started a family and were blessed with a daughter, Trina L. Jones and a son, Gary J. Jones Jr.

Gary was a loving family man and he was a father to many. He loved children young and old. There were a few activities that Gary loved, which included; fishing, sitting in his recliner, watching television, listening to music and he was an avid sports lover. Gary was a man of very few words but when he spoke, he would magnify and electrify any social setting.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Jones; brother, Roy V. Jones. Gary is survived by his mother Elva M. Jones; beloved wife of 43 years Sharon L. Jones; daughters, Trina L. Jones, Addie C. Rackthai; son, Gary J. Jones Jr.; grandchildren, DaBrian G. Jones, Eric L. Jones, Gary J. Jones III, Demontae D. Jackson, TreVail D. E. Jones, Bionc'aa R. Miles, Lariah Stevenson; siblings, Karla J. Jones-Rasheed, Louis A. Conner; nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends.
