Fortner, George A., Jr., age 85, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015. He was born in Vineland, New Jersey on November 17, 1929 to the late George A., Sr. and Cathryn Fortner (nee Dos Santos). George served his country in both the U.S. Army and National Guard. He was a natural handyman and built a career as a clinical and electrical engineer with a broad spectrum of self-taught skills and responsibilities. George never met a stranger and enjoyed a good conversation.
George is survived by his beloved Wife of 17 years, Gladys Fortner (nee Sparks); Son, Guy (Beth) Fortner; Daughter, Vicki Riley; 2 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; Step-Children, Theresa (Paul) Moore, Vannessa (Mark Price) Carney, Sheila (Kenneth) Patterson, Michael (Ruby) Carney; and a host of other family members and friends through the years.

Funeral Ceremony will be 1:00 pm Thursday, August 13, 2015 with a visitation from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Western Hills Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211. Graveside service will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati.
