Funeral service for George Elmer Hughes, age 69 of Cincinnati, will be Tuesday, August 09, 2011 at 10 am at the St. Simon of Cyrene Episcopal Church, with Father Babb officiating. Burial will follow in the Crown Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 08, 2011 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 7830 Hamilton Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45231, and at the St. Simon of Cyrene Episcopal Church from 9 am to 9:45 am on the day of service.
George passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at VA Medical Center. He was born on Jun 28, 1942 in Detroit, MI to Taylor Hughes, Sr. and Anna J. Hughes. He was a member of St. Simon of Cyrene Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his Wife of 49 years, Laura M. Hughes; Son, George P. Hughes; Son, Chephren S. (Kim) Hughes; Son, Marcus Moore; Sister, Agnes L. (Edward) Grimes; Brother, Taylor Hughes, Jr.; Sister, Esther J. (Johnny) Gordon; Sister, Dorothea Hughes; numerous Grandchildren, and many other family members and friends. He also leaves behind to mourn Danielle, Bomani, Malene, Elita, Jelani. He was preceded in death by his Parents, and Daughter, Deborah G. Moore.
