Gilbert Lewis Smalling

Gilbert (Sonny) L. Smalling, 76 of Taylor Mill passed away Monday September 23, 2019. He is survived by his wife Donna; daughters Sonjua (Pat) Smith, Dawn (Darryl) Hammons, Cherie (Gary) King, Marlena (Barry) Hampton; grandchildren Justin, Elizabeth, Amber, Adrian, Courtney, Katelin, Britny, Brandon, Hannah and Blake; and 16 great grandchildren.

Sonny served in the Army, served as a police officer at the City of Wilder, and retired from General Motors after 30 years.

Sonny enjoyed fishing and playing music with his friends. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Nothing surpassed his love for his family.

A memorial will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions on Friday September 27, 2019. A Gathering of family and friends from 2:30pm - 4:00 pm. Memorial services will begin at 4:00 pm.
