Gregory Dale Barnes

Gregory Dale Barnes, age 68, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024. He was born on December 10, 1956, in Covington, Kentucky, to the late John Dale Barnes and Joyce Elaine Barnes (nee Doan).

Greg had a remarkable career as a structural engineer, earning his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kentucky in 1980. His expertise contributed to the construction of numerous buildings in Florida. Alongside his professional accomplishments, Greg took pride in mentoring and teaching his nieces.

An avid learner, Greg had a deep appreciation for mathematics, woodworking, and ancient cultures. He enjoyed spending time at the Erlanger Public Library and was known for his love of reading and crossword puzzles. Those who knew him recognized his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to bring joy to those around him.

Greg now joins in eternal rest with his father, John Dale Barnes; mother, Joyce Elaine Barnes; and sister, Kathy Jean Bowman. He is survived by his brothers David Michael (Darlene) Barnes, Jeffrey Alan Barnes, and Timothy Scott Barnes, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.
