Obituary
Gregory Nelson McConnell (Big Mac) was born on November 25, 1937 to Rachel and William McConnell of Cincinnati, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John Miller and Linsey McConnell. He worked at the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years as a mail handler. He joined Howards Creek Baptist Church in 1971 in Winchester Kentucky. At the time of his passing he served as a deacon at the House of Refuge.
He married Sara J. McConnell on June 7, 1970. There are three children that he loved and raised as his own Odessa (Maguatte) Thiam, Walter (Sophia) Bledsoe, and Alice "Little Baby" Bledsoe. He is also survived by brother-in-law, J. D. Conner, Jr.; ten grandchildren, Alundra (David) Childs, Reginald Jenkins, Jr., Ariana Owens, Alexandria McFadden, Santana Benton, Solomon Hamilton, Aurelia Gillium, Aristen Owens, Aminata Thiam, and Quimauri Turnboat; seven great-grandchildren; additional family, Robert Lee "Big Rob" Smith, Jr., Ervin L "Big E" Owens, Jr., Tony Mitchell, Don Larkin, Jr., Brett Larkin, Paula Daniels, and a host of other relatives and friends.
