Gwendolyn Zanders

Gwendolyn Zanders (Daniels) was born on January 25, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the union of Opal Fay Barker (Daniels) and the late Hubert Daniels Sr. She departed this life peacefully on January 11, 2013 at 11:33 A.M. in the arms of her devoted grand-daughter, Lakesha Zanders, who cared for her faithfully during her final moments. Sabrina, Kenneth, Lawrence, Jamya, Michael and Michelle were also involved in her care.

Gwen attended Hayes Elementary School and Porter Junior High School. She was gifted with a beautiful voice and loved to spend time with her grand children singing, dancing, and baking delicious treats and soul dishes. At an early age, Gwen married Kenneth Zanders and born from that union were; Sabrina, Kenneth Jr., Michael, and Michelle (twins), Terrence (deceased) and Lawrence. Gwen was the second oldest of four other siblings; Hubert Daniels (Laura), Tyrone Daniels (deceased), Gregory Daniels (deceased) and Beverly and Clifford Lindsey (deceased).

She also leaves behind to cherish her memories; two uncles, Edward and Jesse Roseman; two aunts, Jo Ann Roseman and Janet Plesinger; twenty grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Dennis M. Cooke IV officiating. Cremation will be held. A memorial gathering will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service at 3:00 P.M.
