Harlene Hall-Harris

April 4, 1950 — September 29, 2020

Harlene Hall-Harris, born the 5th child of 12 children in Emelle, Alabama on April 4, 1950 to the late Johnson Jr. and Kizzie Kennedy. She moved to Cincinnati, Ohio with her family at the age of 2.

The majority of her childhood and young adult years she resided in the downtown West End and Winton Terrace communities. She played baseball for the Winton Terrace community. Harlene was educated in the Cincinnati Public Schools system. Her favorite subject was Math and she enjoyed working with numbers. She graduated from Claude V. Courter Technical High School in 1969 (currently Cincinnati State Technical and Community College).

She was a valuable employee at several businesses in the Cincinnati area: Standard Publishing Company, Postal Services, Club Chef, Deer Park Dye and Stamping Company, and Hyde Park Adult Center. Her final place of employment was with Cincinnati Public Schools for 27 years as a Lunchroom Manager until she retired in 2015.

She was a foster parent to several children from 2008 to May 2014.

She was baptized under the leadership of Bishop Daniel Campbell Sr. at House of God (Vine Street). She was a devoted member from 1983 to 1995. From 1995- present she joined House of God of the Apostolic Faith (Reading Road) under the leadership of Bishop Robert A. Campbell Sr. She served as an Elect Lady, Usher Board Ministry, and Mother Board Ministry.

Harlene was joined in holy matrimony (1969) to David Hall Sr. and to this union a son was born - David Hall Jr. Harlene was joined in holy matrimony (1988) to Darrell L. Harris and to this union a daughter was born - Damika Sharnae Harris.

She leaves to cherish her memory children: David (Bridgett) and Damika (Donald); grandsons: David Hall III and DaShon Hall; great-grandsons: Dylan Harris and David Hall; siblings: Bobbie Halbert (deceased), Ida Davenport, James Kennedy, John Kennedy (deceased), Cleo Kennedy (Vickie), Benjamin Kennedy (deceased), Janice Kennedy, Ricky Kennedy, Marie Kennedy, Ronald Kennedy (deceased) and Allma Williams (Karl); uncle: Edmund McGhee and brother-in law: Eugene Halbert; lifetime friendships: Trudy, Ada, Darleen, Connie, Elonda, Fronta' (deceased) and Regina (deceased); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Ceremony will be at 11:00 am Friday, October 9, 2020 with a visitation from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
