Herman "Tex" Carter, 83, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Friday, February 12, 2021.
He was born in Avella, PA to the late Lawrence Carter, Sr. and Clarinda Carter.
Tex was a Military Veteran of the United States Air Force and he proudly served his country. Tex had a long successful career as a business owner and contractor for Metropolitan Housing Authority.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wives, Shirley Carter and Jacklen R. Williams; 4 brothers, Richard, Walter, Lawrence and Thomas; as well as two sisters, Audrey and Shirley.
Tex is survived by two sisters, Canola Harris of Gaithersburg, MD and Donna Carter-Terry of Wheeling, WV; sister-in-law, Kim Carter of Maryland; son and daughter-in-law, John and Jacquelyn Johnson Powell of North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Henry Easley of Cincinnati, Ohio along with Sandy, Diane, Tyrone, Mark, Carl Jr. and Keith; niece, Tina; daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Damon Campbell of Lebanon, Ohio. Tex had a host of grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, as well as many other extended family members and friends.
Tex was a loving father and friend to many. He always lent a helping hand. He loved fishing and spending time with his grandkids. He will be especially missed for his soft tone and contagious smile.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211. Burial will follow the service at Spring Grove Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 5 - 8 pm at the funeral home.
